Born and raised in Drummondville, Québec, Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Turcotte joined 607 Squadron, Air Cadet League of Canada in 1985. In June 1991, he enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Air Weapon Technician. However due to a massive reduction and restructuration of the Canadian Armed Forces, he remustered as a Military Police (MP) Officer in 1996.

His background consists of various duties in the Military Police Branch at the Tactical, National, and Inter-Ministerial levels in support of numerous operations. He has served in several positions including Patrols, Scene of Crime Officer and Forensic Identification, Team Leader Major Crime Investigations, Detachment Commander & Security Advisor to two Canadian Ambassadors, Unit Sergeant-Major overseeing the security of 53 Canadian Embassies, as well as the Air Force Military Police Group Chief Warrant Officer. Moreover, CWO Turcotte has been appointed the Military Police Branch Chief Warrant Officer from March 2018 to June 2020.

His assignments include 5 Military Police Unit – Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Valcartier QC; the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service Central Region (CFNIS CR), Ottawa, ON; the Embassy of Canada to Jordan & Iraq; the Military Police Security Service Headquarter (MPSS HQ) – Global Affairs Canada, Ottawa ON, as well as the Air Force Military Police Group (AF MP Gp), 1st Canadian Air Division (1 CAD), Winnipeg, MB. CWO Turcotte has also deployed with several Task Forces and served overseas in the Balkans, Middle-East and South-West Asia, where he earned multiple awards and decorations.

From July 2013 to July 2016, he has held the position of Canadian Liaison & Advanced Leadership Instructor at the United States Air Force Senior Non-commissioned Officer Academy (AFSNCOA), Maxwell AFB, Montgomery, Alabama (USA). CWO Turcotte was awarded the United State Forces Meritorious Service Medal in September 2017.

From July 2018 to June 2021, CWO Turcotte has had the pleasure and immense privilege to be the 3 Wing and CFB Bagotville Chief Warrant Officer.

Following a calling packed with many unique opportunities, CWO Turcotte returned to Ottawa in July 2021 as the Assistant Deputy Minister Information Management Group Chief Warrant Officer (ADM (IM) Gp CWO) – a senior appointment at the executive level, contributing to the success of the Defence Team.

In closing, as a personal and professional goal, he recently completed a Master’s degree in Leadership with Royal Roads University, British-Columbia. CWO Turcotte is blissfully married and is the proud father of two remarkable young adults.
