Col Guy Parisien joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2001 as a Communications and Electronics Engineer. He has enjoyed postings to the Canadian Forces Joint Signals Regiment (2004), the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics (2007), the Royal Military College (2008), Director General Military Careers (2009), 4 Wing Cold Lake (2010), 1 Canadian Air Division (2013) and the Canadian Forces College (2015).

Upon completion of the Joint Command and Staff Program in 2016, Col Parisien was posted to 1 Canadian Air Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba as the A6 Director where he was responsible for the delivery of integrated communications effects across the Air Force for the Commander.

In 2018, Col Parisien assumed the position of Commanding Officer of the Aerospace and Telecommunications Engineering Support Squadron in Trenton, Ontario where he was responsible for the provision of specialized engineering, training and production services in support of Air Force operations.

Col Parisien had the privilege of Commanding 5 Wing and Canadian Forces Base Goose Bay from 2020 to 2023 where he was responsible for a remote northern airfield supporting the NORAD mission and austere training for the Canadian Forces and allied partners.

Col Parisien was promoted to his current rank in 2023 and posted to Ottawa where he assumed responsibilities within the RCAF Commander’s Staff as the Director of Air Domain Development and is the Occupation Advisor for the CELE and ATIS Tech trades.

Col Parisien has participated in deployed operations in Afghanistan (2006), Kosovo (2012) and Kuwait (2014) where he was awarded a CJOC Commanders Commendation for exemplary service.

Col Parisien holds a diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology from St. Lawrence College, and both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Defence Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada.

Throughout his career Col Parisien has been supported by his wife Marcella. Both of their children have joined the family business, Nicholas, is undergoing ATIS Tech trg in Kingston, Ontario and Isabelle is attending Memorial University under the ROTP program.
