100th Birthday! We need your enthusiasm for Canadian Signalman Stanley W. Dovauo, originally of Vernon, BC.

  Signalman Stanley Dovauo will be celebrating his 100th Birthday, come 19 Nov 2022!Having enlisted in Aug of ‘41, Sig Dovauo was deployed to England in preparations for operations in continental Europe. He met his sweetheart Laura Priddle of Sussex and married in Dec of 1943.Headed off to France in July 1944 with 3rd Canadian Infantry Division, 4th LAAA Regiment (RCA). He ended the war in Bremerhaven and returned to Canada in August 1946 and discharged in Vernon, BC 1946.Stanley relocated back to the UK with his bride, where he presently resides in North Devon, England. Congratulations to Captain Russell Storring!

Captain Russell Storring, awarded the Military Personnel Generation Group Commanders Commendation for his work in Decentralized Recruit Training. Citation: Captain Storring was a success enabler in the establishment of the Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School Detachment Borden.  From July 2020 to June 2021, their invaluable basic training knowledge and superior leadership skills contributed to maintaining the CFB Borden institutional credibility and delivery of satellite serials of basic training. Their advice was sought at all levels to assist in adapting to the new mandate of decentralized basic training delivery.  As a result, Base Borden was able to effectively contribute to the basic training force generation mandate. – Signed by CWO J.L.S. Signallers ‘got comms thru’ as Canadians fought over the Channel, on the coast of France & Belgium, and dykes of the Netherlands. We helped liberate the Dutch and rebuild their lives. Canadian signalmen connected the enemy to General Foulkes for the surrender.
