The Military Communications and Electronics Museum Foundation is seeking a contractor to provide secretary-treasurer services. The contract will commence 1 September 2019 and will entail approximately 40 hours per month of work. It will be for an initial period of six months, but could be extended indefinitely. The Museum has been contacted by the Horseless Carriage Club as they plan on visiting the gallery Fri, 26 July afternoon. I have asked permission from them to let people know online about their visit as people may be interested at looking at the automobiles. At this time we are looking at about fifty vehicles coming to the Museum. The owners will be touring the gallery, but their cars will be on display in the large parking lot. I thought it may be of interest to members of the Branch. I just hope the weather cooperates. They are also supposed to be in Springer Market Square over the lunch period before heading to the Museum (in case anyone will be downtown that day). I have included the sample photos they sent me to post on the Museum Facebook site. The cars range from 1904-1915, and are capable of speeds from 25 to 65 miles per hours depending on the make and model. They should be at the Museum around 1430 tomorrow afternoon. Since 2003, the Canadian Forces Information Operations Group Headquarters (CFIOG HQ) has a detachment located at Fort Gordon, Georgia, USA. They are part of the Military Personnel Exchange Program (MPEP) between United States Navy (USN) and Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). Currently there is a contingent of eight CAF personnel consisting of six Communicator Research Operators, one Cyber Operator, and one CELE officer. For the past three years, CFIOG HQ OUTCAN Detachment Georgia, in collaboration with other Commonwealth partners from the United Kingdom and Australia, have organized a golf tournament where proceeds go toward a military oriented charity. This year, the Commonwealth Golf Tournament was held on 8 March 2019, at the Gordon Lakes Golf Club and was a huge success, with 58 registered players. Proceeds for this year’s tournament went towards Homes for Our Troops (HFOT), a non-profit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes for severely injured, post – 9/11 veterans. This year, the proceeds went to Sgt (Retired) Stephen “Mark” Smith from Bonaire, GA, who was injured on 14 October 2016, when he stepped on a landmine during an operation with the 1st Battalion, 6th Marines in Ramadi, Iraq.
