FREE ONE YEAR MEMBERSHIP TO THE SIGNALLERS CLUB OF CANADA FOR SERVING MEMBERS AND MEMBERS WHO RETIRED AFTER 1 JAN 2009

May 2, 2019 | 0 comments

Last year it was voted in that all serving members be offered a one-year free membership to the Signallers Club of Canada (This includes C&E Members who have retired after 01 Jan 2009). Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity! THE GENESIS OF THE CLUB A small group of ex-members of The Royal Canadian Corps of Signals got together in Kingston on the 24th of October 1979 to commemorate the Corps Birthday. “Why don’t we do this more often?” was the consensus. Some aims were formulated on the spot – to renew old acquaintances, maintain esprit de corps, get to meet every now and then on a social basis, maintain liaison with the modern-day version of the Corps and perhaps in some way assist ex-Sigs types who may not have been as lucky as the rest of us. The first meeting of the new Club was held in March 1980 – with 18 persons present. The name selected for the Club was “The Signallers Club (Kingston)”. Keeping with the traditions of the original dinner, a formal seating plan will be in place. A link for menu options, payment and registration is forthcoming. CDA Op RENEW Working Groups

Mar 25, 2019 | 0 comments

C&E Members, Your Association needs you.  The C&E Association has been asked to support the Conference of Defence Associations (CDA) Operation RENEW by participating in three Working Groups.  Among other topics, these Working Groups will work to address a variety of concerns in the way CDA supports its member Associations, including ours and the way it is funded.  This is our opportunity to shape our relationship with CDA.  Details of Op RENEW are available on their website at http://cdacanada.ca/op-renew/.  Participation is not limited to those in the National Capital Region.  Working Groups will cater for virtual/distributed participation. Although not limited to retired members, it is anticipated that working group demands might make it difficult for serving members or those with full time employment to fully participate. Anyone interested in participating is requested to contact Sean Sullivan at [email protected]. Thank you in Advance for considering this request.
