On the 2nd of March the Branch Leader, BGen Dave Yarker, and Branch Chief, CWO Alex Arndt, joined eight deserving members at the 2023 Women in Defence & Security(WiDS) Awards Breakfast. This year’s event, held at the Shaw Center in Ottawa, saw over 1,500 people attending live and virtually bringing together many unique and empowering women in Canada’s defence and securities industries. The C&E Branch was proud to support this initiative and the C&E Branch members who have made a difference in their communicates and units.

WiDS is a national not-for-profit organization that aims to promote and support the advancement of women in careers related to Canadian defence and security. Their networking and mentoring opportunities are designed for anyone at all stages of their careers and host free virtual and in-person events throughout the year to help establish and maintain meaningful connections in the community. The WiDS Scholarship & CGAI Fellowship are awarded annually to students pursuing higher education related to Canada’s defence and security.
