SUGIMOTO, BGen (Ret) Mamoru “Sugi” Passed away with family by his side at the K-W Campus of Grand River Hospital on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the age of 85. Sugi is survived by his loving wife, Wendy Hilborn; daughter, Alana Steward (Jim); son, Akira Sugimoto (Joanne); step-daughter, Micheline Courtemanche (Brad); stepson, Richard Courtemanche (Lucy); 12 grandchildren; and sister, Tomiko Sugimoto. He will be dearly missed by all. Predeceased by his parents and eight brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date; details will be announced in a future edition of the Waterloo Region Record.
