WO (Ret’d) Thomas Richard “TR” McKay

25 Avr 16

It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my husband TR McKay, a proud veteran, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. He especially enjoyed his role as uncle to his many nieces and nephews. The highlight of his 28 year military career was his time with the Airborn. After his retirement, he spent time with the Commissionaires and later the G4 and enjoyed his years at WSIB. He was a spit and polished soldier to the end. He loved the outdoors trips with his brothers and golfing with buddies.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 46 years, Joan, daughter Tiffany Poirier, son-in-law Marcel, much loved granddaughters DJ and Allyssa. He loved his McKay family. He is survived by siblings Betty, Helen, (Lloyd) Jack, (Judy) Jo-Ann, (Barry) Bryan, (Judy) Joyce, Keith (Marilyn), Bill, Lois, Rob (Cathy) and their families. He is also survived by his extended Weedmark family who loved him so much.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Branch 5 Legion at 7pm, Thursday, April 28, 2016 officiated by Ken Haggerty of Calvin Presbyterian Church. Interment at a later date.
