In autumn of 2021, the Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre (CMTC) in Wainwright ran a successful High Capacity Line of Sight (HCLOS) course, serial 0086, with personnel attending from local units, including: CMTC, 41 Signals Regiment, 3rd Canadian Division Support Group Signal Squadron, and 3rd Canadian Division Training Centre.

Concurrent to the HCLOS course, many future Majors led the charge on their Combat Team Commander Course.

With cooperative weather, and the Garrison Sergeant Major abstaining from pulling the giant snowstorm creation lever, the most difficult part of the HCLOS course became deciding whether to pronounce HCLOS “H-C-LOS” or “H-CLOS.” As Wainwright is in the 3rd Canadian Division AOR, “H-C-LOS” became the proper pronunciation. The Army of the West marches to our own drum beat.

Congratulations to all the students on their new qualification!
