SIGNALLER JACOB LEONARD OUTHOUSE

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our fellow soldier, Sig Jacob Leonard Outhouse due to a tragic accident which occurred on Sunday, August 11, 2024. He was surrounded by family and friends and love at the Halifax Infirmary QEII. Born on June 20, 2001, he was 23 years of age from Souris, PE. He will be unconsolably missed and forever loved by his parents Ronnie and Cindy (MacDonald) Outhouse, sister Symonne Outhouse (Jordan Roche), twin brother Jesse Outhouse, nieces Wren and Nina, grandmother, Ann MacDonald, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also, to mourn his loss is special friend Neeve Mitchell. Predeceased by his grandparents Johnny and Margaret Outhouse, grandfather Leonard Walter MacDonald, and special friends Lance Mingo, Brody McCarthy and Harry Burke. He was the youngest twin by 16 minutes, and his brother never let him forget it. He loved sports, fishing, and karaoke. Fortunately, he performed Saturday night alongside his father. He attended École La-Belle-Cloche for ten years until he transferred to Souris High and graduated in 2019. He was currently working as a Signal Operator based out of Gagetown, New Brunswick and travelling back home to spend the weekends with friends and family.

He was a well respected and enthusiastic soldier as part of 36 Signal Regiment in Charlottetown where he made an impact on all whom he came in contact with. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home where visiting hours will take place on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 5-8pm. A funeral Mass will be held at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Souris on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 2:00pm with interment to follow in the church cemetery. If so desired, donations in memory of Jacob can be made to the Souris Minor Ball Equipment Fund, or the St. Mary’s Cemetery Fund.
