  1. ON 30 SEP 2021, CAPTAIN BROCK LUPTON, MASTER GUNNER, CD WILL RETIRE AFTER 31 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AND THE ROYAL CANADIAN CORPS OF SIGNALS.

2. CAPT LUPTON JOINED THE COMMUNICATION RESERVE ON 14 JUNE 1990 IN HAMILTON, ONTARIO, SERVING WITH 705 COMMUNICATION SQN. AFTER 8 YEARS OF SERVICE WITH THE RESERVES INCLUDING SOME OVERSEAS TOURS AND CLASS B CONTRACTS, HE DECIDED TO TRANSITION TO THE REGULAR FORCE ON 16 APRIL 1998.

3. IN APRIL 1998 HE WAS POSTED TO 2 CMBG HQ & SIG SQN IN PETAWAWA, SPENDING THE MAJORITY OF HIS POSTING IN BRIGADE INFORMATION SYSTEMS SUPPORTING THE BRIGADE HQ. IN 2004 HE WAS POSTED TO THE FCC AT 764 COMM SQN OTTAWA AS A SHIFT SUPERVISOR, 2I/C AND EVENTUAL SUPERVISOR. IN 2005 HE VOLUNTEERED FOR SERVICE WITH CANSOFCOM AND IN JANUARY 2006 WAS POSTED TO CANSOFCOM HQ TO HELP EXPAND THE NETWORKS OF THE NEW COMMAND. IN 2007 HE WAS POSTED TO CJIRU IN TRENTON WHERE HE SUPPORTED SPECIALIZED MISSIONS FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS. IN 2010, NEWLY PROMOTED TO WARRANT OFFICER, HE WAS POSTED TO 3 SQN AT CFJSR, AND IMMEDIATELY DEPLOYED TO TFK HQ&SIG SQN WITH THE NCCIS TROOP. UPON RETURN IN 2011 HE WAS EMPLOYED AS CFJSR’S FIRST IST SENIOR ADVISOR AKA THE FOURTH WISEMAN. IN 2012 HE WAS SELECTED TO ATTEND THE ARMY TECHNICAL WARRANT OFFICER PROGRAM GRADUATING IN 2013 AS A NEWLY MINTED MASTER GUNNER AND POSTED TO JOINT TASK FORCE 2 AS A CAPABILITY DEVELOPER. PROMOTED TO MWO IN 2015, HE WAS DRAGGED KICKING AND SCREAMING FROM SERVICE WITH CANSOFCOM AND POSTED TO CFSCE AS THE FIRST IST MWO, AND THE SCHOOL’S FIRST IST WISEMAN. DURING THIS TIME HE CONTRIBUTED TO CHANGES TO IST TRAINING, THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CISCO NETWORKING ACADEMY, YET ANOTHER ACISS REVIEW AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CYBER OPERATOR OCCUPATION.

IN 2017 CAPT LUPTON WAS SELECTED FOR THE CFR PROGRAM, COMMISSIONED TO THE RANK OF CAPTAIN, GRANTED PLARS FOR JUST ABOUT EVERY QUALIFICATION HE COULD THINK TO REQUEST AND POSTED TO JOINT TASK FORCE X IN KINGSTON SERVING AS THE UNIT SIG O, THE OC OF THE OPERATIONS SQUADRON AND THE OPERATIONS OFFICER.

5. CAPT LUPTON SERVED ON SEVERAL INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS AND EXERCISES INCLUDING OP SPEAKER IN 1995 (BOSNIA), OP KINETIC IN 2000 (KOSOVO), OP ATHENA IN 2003 (KABUL) AND 2010 (KANDAHAR). DURING HIS CAREER HE CHANGED OCCUPATIONS 7 TIMES WITHOUT CHANGING CAPBADGES STARTING AS A RADIO TELETYPE OPERATOR AND ENDING AS A SIGNAL OFFICER.

6. BROCK HAS HAD AN EXTREMELY VARIED AND FULFILLING CAREER, AND IS GRATEFUL FOR THE HONOUR AND PRIVILEGE OF HAVING HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE WITH SO MANY INCREDIBLE MEMBERS OF THE SIGNAL CORPS, CANSOFCOM, CFINTCOM AND THE WIDER CAF. BROCK IS ALSO GRATEFUL FOR HAVING HAD THE OPPORTUNITY, MOST OF THE TIME, TO MANAGE HIS OWN CAREER WHICH HAS RESULTED IN SOME AMAZING OPPORTUNITIES.

7. BROCK HAS ACCEPTED A POSITION IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR WITH A BOUTIQUE CYBERSECURITY FIRM. HE WILL REMAIN IN THE KINGSTON AREA WITH HIS SPOUSE KELLY, DAUGHTERS BRANWYN AND SADIE AND DOG OZZY, CONTINUING TO TAKE FREQUENT TRIPS TO DISNEY PARKS AND RENOVATING.
