1. CAPTAIN DENIS ESCULIER RETIRED FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 16 APRIL 2020, AFTER MORE THAN 35 YEARS OF LOYAL SERVICE TO CANADA.
2. CAPTAIN ESCULIER JOINED CANADIAN ARMED FORCES IN QUEBEC CITY IN 1985 AS A 211 RADIO OPERATOR. AFTER RECRUIT SCHOOL IN ST-JEAN SUR RICHELIEU, HE GOES TO CANADIAN FORCES BASE (CFB) BORDEN FOR 3 WEEKS TO GET HIS LANGUAGE PROFILE AND THEN DRIVES TO CFB KINGSTON TO DO HIS QL3. STARTING FROM JANUARY 1986, HE WAS POSTED TO VALCARTIER (FOR MOST OF HIS CAREER), ST-JEAN SUR RICHELIEU/MONTREAL, OTTAWA AND LAHR GERMANY. HE TOOK PART IN OUTCAN MISSIONS IN CROATIA, BOSNIA X 2, CYPRUS AND AFGHANISTAN FOR 9 MONTHS.
3. ONE OF THE EXPLOITS OF WHICH DENIS IS ESPECIALLY PROUD WAS REACHING THE RANK OF CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER AND THEN COMMISSIONING TO THE RANK OF CAPTAIN IN THE LATER YEARS OF HIS CAREER.
4. DENIS WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE INDIVIDUALS HE HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER; HE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK HIS WIFE DORIS, HIS CHILDREN JÉRÔME AND JUSTINE AND THE CHILDREN OF DORIS, JEAN-PHILIP AND JANE ANN, AND HIS PARENTS.
