RETIREMENT – CAPTAIN JASON ISENOR, CD, 00340 – CELE

1. AFTER MORE THAN 28 YEARS OF SERVICE, CAPTAIN JASON ISENOR WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON THE 30TH OF SEPTEMBER, 2022.

2. JAY GREW UP IN ELMSDALE NS, AND JOINED THE CAF IN 1993 AS 031 INFANTRY. AFTER COMPLETION OF BASIC RECRUIT TRAINING AT CFRS CORNWALLIS, AND PPCLI BATTLE SCHOOL IN WAINWRIGHT AB, THEY WERE POSTED TO 2 PPCLI IN WINNIPEG IN JUNE OF 1994.

SPENDING THE NEXT SEVEN YEARS IN THE BATTALION, AND AFTER A VACATION TO BOSNIA IN 1997, AND COMPLETION OF THE QUEEN’S GUARD IN 1998, JAY DECIDED TO REMUSTER TO ATIS TECH 226 IN JANUARY OF 2000. ON COMPLETION OF TRADES TRAINING, THEY WERE POSTED TO 14 WING GREENWOOD.

IN 2006, AFTER A PROMOTION TO MCPL, THEY WERE SUBSEQUENTLY POSTED TO 9 WING GANDER. HERE THEIR TIME WAS DIVIDED BETWEEN COMPUTER SUPPORT, AND CANADIAN COASTAL RADAR TRAINING. IN 2008, ON PROMOTION TO SGT, JAY ASSUMED THE ROLE AS COURSE DIRECTOR, AND MAINTENANCE MANAGER DUTIES FOR THE CCR COURSE.

IN THE SUMMER OF 2011, JAY WAS POSTED TO ATESS TRENTON WHERE HE SPENT THE NEXT 6 YEARS TRAINING ATIS TECHS. WHILE AT ATESS THEY WERE PROMOTED TO WO IN 2012, AND THEN TO MWO IN 2015.

IN 2017, JAY DECIDED TO “JUMP SHIP” AND COMMISSIONED AS A CELE OFFICER. ON COMPLETION OF THE CELE BASIC COURSE, JAY RETURNED TO CFSCE AS AN INSTRUCTOR, THEN COURSE DIRECTOR FOR THE CBQ. JAY REMAINED AT CFSCE UNTIL THE SUMMER OF 2021 WHEN THEY WERE POSTED BACK TO ATESS AS THE DEPUTY TRAINING FLIGHT COMMANDER.

3. JAY HAS NO IMMEDIATE PLANS FOR THE FUTURE, BUT WILL REMAIN IN THE TRENTON AREA FOR THE TIME BEING. JAY WOULD LIKE TO SEND A SINCERE THANKS TO ALL WHO WORKED WITH, AND SUPPORTED JAY OVER THE DURATION OF HIS CAREER.
