RETIREMENT – CWO DENIS BRUNEAU, CD, CPO1/CWO CORPS-TLT

1. ON BEHALF OF THE BRANCH, WE WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE THAT CWO DENIS BRUNEAU, CD WILL RELEASE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES MAY 30 2022, AFTER 32 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA, THE ROYAL CANADIAN CORPS OF SIGNALS.

2. DENIS ENLISTED IN HIS HOMETOWN OF QUEBEC CITY, QC AND WAS SENT TO RECRUIT SCHOOL IN 1990 IN ST JEAN, QC. HE THEN COMPLETED HIS RADOP QUALIFICATION AT CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS IN KINGSTON, ON AND BECAME A FULLY QUALIFIED TRADESMAN IN 1990. UPON COMPLETION, PTE BRUNEAU POSTED TO 5 CANADIAN MECHANIZED BRIGADE GROUP HEADQUARTERS AND SIGNAL SQUADRON IN VALCARTIER, QC THEN DEPLOYED ON OP CAVALIER IN 1995.

PROMOTED TO CORPORAL AND POSTED TO HEADQUARTERS AND SIGNAL SQUADRON, QC, IN 1994 HE DEPLOYED ON OP PRUDENCE IN 1998. IN 2000, HE WAS POSTED IN 1R22ER AND 5E RGC. IN 2006, WO BRUNEAU WAS POSTED TO 741 COMM SQN IN ESQUIMALT, BC. IN 2009, WO BRUNEAU WAS POSTED TO 76 COMM REGT WHERE HE DEPLOYED TO AFGHANISTAN UNDER TF KABUL. HE REMAINED IN OTTAWA UNTIL HIS 2011 MWO PROMOTION. HE WAS THEN POSTED TO CFLRS IN ST-JEAN, QC UNTIL 2015 AND RETURNED TO OTTAWA. IN 2019, CWO BRUNEAU WAS POSTED TO DLCI AND FINALLY TO CJOC HQ J6 SENIOR ADVISOR IN 2020.

3. CWO BRUNEAU HAS GONE THROUGH MULTIPLE POSTINGS, DEPLOYMENTS, TASKS, DURING HIS 32 YEAR CAREER. HE SERVED FROM BOSNIA TO TWICE IN AFGHANISTAN TO UNITED ARAB EMIRATES TO CENTRAL AFRICA AND SEVERAL PROJECTS ACROSS THE CAF WITHIN CANADA.

 

4. DENIS, WITH HIS SPOUSE KATHRYN, HAVE DECIDED TO REMAIN IN THE NCR AREA WHERE THEY INTEND TO CONTINUE THEIR HOBBY OF RIDING. HE HAS BEEN OFFERED A CIVILIAN JOB IN 766 COMM SQN WHERE HE WILL TRANSFORM A PASSION FOR THE CRYPTO WORLD INTO A SECOND CAREER.
