1. ON 10 SEP 21, LIEUTENANT-COLONEL MICHAEL JACKSON RETIRED FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AFTER 34 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA, THE CAF AND COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS BRANCH.

2. LCOL JACKSON COMES FROM A MILITARY FAMILY AND ENROLLED IN THE CAF ON 10 SEP 87 AS A CELE OFFICER. HIS LONG CAREER TOOK HIM FROM HIS FIRST POSTING AT 226 RADAR SQUADRON GANDER TO CFCC HQ AND THEN TO 765 ISS SQN IN OTTAWA. HE THEN GOT HIS FIRST COMMAND AS CO NICS SGT FOLLY LAKE IN 1999. HE THEN STARTED A LONG LINE OF POSTINGS IN THE INTELLIGENCE WORLD STARTING WITH TRINITY IN HALIFAX AND THEN CDI IN OTTAWA. HE THEN WAS POSTED TO NORAD HQ COLORADO SPRINGS AND UPON RETURN TO CANADA IN 2011, HE RETURNED TO HOME STATION AS THE CFSCE DCOMDT. IN 2011 HE WAS PROMOTED TO HIS CURRENT RANK AND POSTED BACK TO OTTAWA TO THE JIIFC PROJECT AND THEN TO A VERY REWARDING TOUR AS A DIRECTOR AT THE CANADIAN FORCES GRIEVANCE AUTHORITY. IN 2017 HE WAS POSTED TO DGDS AND HE IS NOW FINISHING HIS CAREER AS THE CFINTCOM J6.

3. LCOL JACKSON IS RETIRING IN THE OTTAWA AREA WITH HIS SPOUSE CWO (RETIRED) MITCH DULUDE AND HIS GRANDDAUGHTER SIENA.

4. THERE WILL BE NO DWD CEREMONY DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, BUT HE IS HOPING TO GET TOGETHER WITH CLOSE FRIENDS AND FAMILY ONCE THINGS OPEN UP.

Congratulations on your retirement. I am privileged to call you my friend and colleague. I hope retirement is everything you hope for. I am in Ottawa so let’s do the lunch thing.

Congratulations Mike on a long and rewarding career. I cherish the years I was posted to Trenton and Ottawa Comm Gps, as a support trade and served with so many good people I can now call friends, Enjoy retirement, I will be there soon, perhaps then a golf game or lunch! Ray McInnis sends
