1. AFTER 21 YEARS OF SERVICE, MAJOR BRYSON MCLELLAN WILL BE RETIRING FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 3 AUGUST 2021.

2. MAJ MCLELLAN JOINED THE CAF IN 2000 AND GRADUATED FROM THE ROYAL MILITARY COLLEGE IN 2004 WHERE HE EARNED A BACHELORS OF ENGINEERING AND MET HIS LOVELY WIFE CATHERINE. UPON COMPLETION OF SIGNAL OFFICER TRAINING AT THE CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS, HE WAS POSTED TO 2 CANADIAN MECHANIZED BRIGADE GROUP IN PETAWAWA. FOLLOWING A NUMBER OF FORMATIVE JUNIOR COMMAND AND STAFF APPOINTMENTS, HE DEPLOYED TO AFGHANISTAN FROM MAY 2008 TO FEBRUARY 2009.

3. AFTER RETURNING TO CANADA HE SPENT TWO REWARDING YEARS IN TECH SERVICES AT CFB BORDEN BEFORE BEING POSTED TO KINGSTON FOR A YEAR AS ADJUTANT OF THE JOINT SIGNAL REGIMENT. PROMOTED TO MAJOR IN 2012, HE WAS POSTED TO ADM(IM) DIMCBM IN OTTAWA FOR THREE YEARS DURING WHICH HE MANAGED TO ESCAPE FOR A 6 MONTH UN DEPLOYMENT TO THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO.

4. IN 2015 MAJ MCLELLAN HAD THE TREMENDOUS FORTUNE TO BE POSTED TO NATO HQ IN BELGIUM WORKING WITH AN OUTSTANDING TEAM AT THE BICES GROUP EXECUTIVE. IN 2018 HE RETURNED TO CANADA AND HAD THE HONOUR OF COMMANDING THE 3RD CANADIAN DIVISION SUPPORT GROUP SIGNALS SQUADRON. HIS 2 YEARS AS CO QUICKLY RUSHED BY AND HE MOVED ACROSS THE STREET TO HIS FINAL POSTING AT THE 3RD CANADIAN DIVISION HQ.

5. MAJ MCLELLAN’S CAREER HAS BEEN A CONTINUOUS SERIES OF CHALLENGING, BUT REWARDING, ADVENTURES IN THE SERVICE OF CANADA. HE HAS BEEN PRIVILEGED TO HAVE SERVED WITH INCREDIBLE PEOPLE AND HE IS PROFOUNDLY GRATEFUL FOR THE FRIENDS AND FAMILY WHO HAVE SUPPORTED HIM ALONG THE WAY.

6. BRYSON AND CATHERINE WILL REMAIN IN THE EDMONTON AREA FOR A YEAR BEFORE SEEKING OUT NEW ADVENTURES IN FERNIE, BC WITH THEIR CHILDREN AMELIA AND RYAN.
