RETIREMENT – MASTER CORPORAL DYLAN J. ELLIOTT CD, 00383-01, SIGOP

1. ON 31 OCT 22, MCPL DYLAN ELLIOTT WILL SHUTDOWN AND ZEROIZE ALL EQUIPMENT IN RETIREMENT WITH 13 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES (CAF).

2. DYLAN ENROLLED WITH THE CAF ON 28 OCT 09 AT CFRC HAMILTON AS AN ARMY SIGNAL OPERATOR (SIGOP). ON COMPLETION OF BMQ IN MAR 2010, HE WOULD SUBSEQUENTLY BE POSTED TO THE CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS (CFSCE) IN KINGSTON WHERE HE WOULD COMPLETE LSVW AND SIGOP QL3 TRAINING. DYLAN HELD POSITIONS AT CFSCE, CANADIAN FORCES JOINT SIGNALS REGIMENT (CFJSR), AND FINALLY THE 4TH CANADIAN DIVISION AND JOINT TASK FORCE CENTRAL HQ AS THE RJOC SIG SUPERVISOR. IN 2014 DYLAN WAS DEPLOYED AS THE COMMANDER’S SIGNALLER ON OPERATION HAMLET / BRABAT BEING THE CANADIAN FORCES PARTICIPATION TO THE UNITED NATIONS STABILIZATION MISSION IN HAITI WITH THE BRAZILIAN BATTALION (BRABAT) IN SUPPORT OF THE MINUSTAH MANDATE. IN OCTOBER 2014, HE DEPLOYED AS PART OF THE OPERATION IMPACT CANADA S COMMITMENT TO ACHIEVING STABILITY IN THE MIDDLE EAST AS A MEMBER OF THE ACTIVATION TEAM IN KUWAIT AS PART OF THE OPERATIONAL RECCE LIAISON DETACHMENT. HE SUPPORTED NAVAL OPERATIONS WITH THE INTERNATIONAL MARITIME EXERCISE RIMPAC IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN IN 2016. IN EARLY 2017, HE DEPLOYED ON OPERATION REASSURANCE IN LATVIA WITH CANADA’S INVOLVEMENT IN SUPPORT OF NATO S ENDEAVOURS TO PROVIDE PRESENCE AND STABILITY WITHIN THE NORTHERN EUROPEAN AND CRIMEAN REGIONS. HE AGAIN DEPLOYED ON OPERATION IMPACT ROTO 6 FROM NOV 2017 – JUNE 2018 AS THE SECOND IN COMMAND FOR SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS (SATCOM) OPERATIONAL SUPPORT. IN 2020 HE WAS OPERATING AT HIS CURRENT UNIT SUPPORTING REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION GLOBE / LASER ASSISTING IN MEETING THE OBJECTIVE OF REPATRIATING CANADIANS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC DYLAN WAS AWARDED THE ROYAL CANADIAN CORPS OF SIGNALS SUBALTERN OF THE YEAR AWARD FOR 2021 IN RECOGNITION OF HIS UNWAVERING SUPPORT TO RJOC CENTRAL FACILITATING SUSTAINED OPERATIONS DURING AN UNPRECEDENTED TIME WHERE MANY PERSONNEL WERE REQUIRED TO REMOTELY PERFORM THEIR DUTIES FROM HOME.

3. UPON RETIREMENT DYLAN INTENDS TO REMAIN IN THE GTA AND HAS ACCEPTED EMPLOYMENT AS A CONDUCTOR WITH CP RAIL. DURING LEISURE TIME HE WILL CONTINUE TO IMPROVE HIS GOLF GAME, KEEP HOPING THAT QUOTE NEXT YEAR WILL BE BETTER FOR THE JAYS UNQUOTE AND CONTINUE TO DABBLE IN GARDENING ENDEAVOURS.

MCpl, you are a valued team member of the RJOC, your departure will leave a noticeable void that will be difficult to fill. Congratulations on a stellar career the past 13 years. You indicated you hoped to return to Class A service, we will keep a position for you! Best Wishes
