RETIREMENT – MASTER CORPORAL LUCAS EDWARDS, CD – 00109 ATIS TECH

1.      MASTER CORPORAL LUCAS EDWARDS WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES (CAF) ON 18 JAN 2023 AFTER 14 + YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA.

2.      MASTER CORPORAL (MCPL) EDWARDS JOINED THE CAF AS A CELE OFFICER AS A PART OF THE REGULAR OFFICER TRAINING PROGRAM IN JULY 2008, TAKING COMPUTER ENGINEERING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA. IN APRIL 2011, HE COMPLETED A VOLUNTARY TRANSFER TO BECOME AN ATIS TECH. AFTER FINISHING POET AND QL3 TRAINING IN NOV 2012, MCPL EDWARDS WAS POSTED TO 8 WING TRENTON WTISS. DURING THIS TIME, HE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO DEPLOY IN SUPPORT OF OP IMPACT ROTO 0. FOLLOWING THEIR POSTING AT WTISS, MCPL EDWARDS JOINED THE TEAM AT 8 AIR COMMUNICATIONS AND CONTROL SQUADRON (8 ACCS) IN JUN 2015. DURING THIS POSTING, MCPL EDWARDS WAS DEPLOYED IN SUPPORT OF OP NANOOK, OP REASSURANCE AND OP CADENCE. IN JUL 2019, MCPL EDWARDS WAS PROMOTED TO HIS CURRENT RANK AND WAS POSTED TO THE CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS (CFSCE) AS A POET INSTRUCTOR AND THEN LATER AS AN ATIS QL3 INSTRUCTOR.

3.      MCPL EDWARDS WILL BE REMAINING IN THE KINGSTON AREA AND TAKING A POSITION WITH SHARED SERVICES CANADA. HE IS LOOKING FORWARD TO ENJOYING QUALITY TIME WITH HIS WIFE, LINDSEY AND THEIR SON FRANKLIN.
