1. ON 18 MARCH 2021, MASTER CORPORAL LYNDSAY CROSS WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AFTER 11 + YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE.

2. MCPL CROSS ENROLLED IN THE CAF IN 2009 AS AN OCDT FROM CHILLIWACK, BC AND MOVED TO KINGSTON, ON TO BEGIN HER CAREER. SHE WENT ON TO BECOME AN ATIS TECH AND, FUELED BY STARBUCKS AND STAGES, SHE GRADUATED FROM TRADE TRAINING IN 2013. SHE WAS POSTED TO 17 WING WINNIPEG IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING HER QL3 COURSE.

3. MCPL CROSS WAS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE CAF AND CITY OF WINNIPEG SOCCER AND HOCKEY COMMUNITIES. SHE REPRESENTED HER UNIT AND WING AT MANY INTERSECTION, REGIONAL, NATIONAL AND CISM-LEVEL EVENTS. WHEN SHE WASN’T ON THE FIELD OR SITTING IN THE PENALTY BOX FOR A CRIME SHE SAYS SHE DIDN’T COMMIT, SHE WAS AN INTEGRAL MEMBER OF THE 17 CIS FLT TEAM AND HELD KEY POSITIONS IN NEARLY ALL AREAS OF THE UNIT. SHE WAS EXTREMELY PASSIONATE ABOUT LEADERSHIP AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF FUTURE ATIS TECHS. SHE DEVELOPED AN OJT TRAINING PACKAGE, TAUGHT ON THE QL5 COURSE AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE QS WRITING BOARDS. HER DEDICATION TO HER TRADE AND FITNESS DIDN’T GO UNNOTICED AS SHE WAS NAMED THE 2019 ATIS TECH OF THE YEAR AND 17 WING FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR IN 2018.

4. LYNDSAY WOULD LIKE TO THANK HER FAMILY, TEAMMATES AND SUPERVISORS FOR PUTTING UP WITH HER OVER THE COURSE OF HER CAREER AND FOR CONTINUING TO SUPPORT HER THROUGHOUT HER JOURNEY.

5. LYNDSAY HAS DECIDED TO CALL WINNIPEG HOME FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE, WHERE SHE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK AT 17 CIS FLIGHT, PLAY SPORTS, AND POWER THROUGH THE UNBEARABLE WINTERS. PLEASE FORWARD ANY ANECDOTES/CONGRATULATORY NOTES TO [email protected].
