1. MASTER WARRANT OFFICER DANIEL WALKER RETIRED FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 15 JANUARY 2021 AFTER SERVING 31+ YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES.

2. DAN JOINED THE CANADIAN ARMY IN JULY 1989 AS A RADIO OPERATOR AND UPON COMPLETION OF HIS TQ3 COURSE HE WAS POSTED TO SSF HQ & SIGNAL SQUADRON IN PETAWAWA. HE DEPLOYED TO BOSNIA IN 1998 AS PART OF THE 1 RCR BG CAMP ZGON, DEPLOYED TO KOSOVO WITH 1 RCR AGAIN AS THE BN CP OPERATOR. 2003 SEEN MCPL WALKER HEADING TO KABUL AS PART OF ROTO 0 OP ATHENA QRF CP DET COMD.

3. DAN LEFT PETAWAWA IN 2006 WHERE HE WAS POSTED TO CFLAWC IN TRENTON. PROMOTED TO SGT 2007 HE MAINTAINED HIS ROLE FOR ANOTHER YEAR AND THEN MOVED ON THE 8ACCS 2008. DURING HIS TIME WITH THIS VERY FAST PACED UNIT, HE DEPLOYED NUMEROUS TIMES DOMESTIC OR ABROAD: FIVE OP BOXTOP THULE GREENLAND, SUPPORT TO OLYMPICS AS WELL AS AFGHANISTAN TAV 2009 AND FINALLY OP HESTIA 2010. 2011 WOULD SEE DAN POSTED TO RCD PETAWAWA. PROMOTED IN 2012 DAN WAS POSTED TO 2 RCHA AS THE SIGS TSM. IN 2013 HE WAS POSTED TO 2 CMBG HQ & SIG SQUADRON AS THE OPERATIONS WO. PROMOTED TO HIS CURRENT RANK IN 2017.

4. DAN IS HONOURED AND HUMBLED TO HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH MANY TRUE PROFESSIONALS WITHIN THE SIGNALS BRANCH AND THE GREATER CAF. FINALLY, DAN IS EXTREMELY THANKFUL FOR THE HARD WORK AND LOVING SUPPORT PROVIDED BY HIS FAMILY WHO ENDURED MANY SHORT NOTICE DEPLOYMENTS. HE WAS ALWAYS ABLE TO FOCUS ON HIS JOB KNOWING THAT HIS FAMILY WAS BEING TAKEN CARE OF ON THE HOME FRONT BY HIS STRONG AND SUPPORTIVE WIFE TARA. SHE WAS THE CONTINUITY AS THEY RAISE THEIR 3 CHILDREN TOGETHER. AFTER RETIREMENT DAN PLANS TO ENJOY THE OUTDOORS WITH HIS WIFE AND KIDS IN THE OTTAWA VALLEY AREA.
