1. AFTER 30 YEARS OF RESERVE AND REGULAR FORCE SERVICE TO THE QUEEN AND CANADA, MASTER WARRANT OFFICER NEIL FORSYTH WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 20 SEPT 2021.
2. MWO FORSYTH ENROLLED ON 2 JULY 1991 JOINING 736 (THUNDER BAY) COMMUNICATION SQUADRON AS A RADIO TELETYPE OPERATOR. AFTER SEVERAL YEARS IN THE RESERVES, INCLUDING AN OPERATIONAL DEPLOYMENT WITH UNPROFOR IN CROATIA, HE TRANSFERRED TO THE REGULAR FORCE ON 15 SEPT 1997, ONCE AGAIN BECOMNING A PRIVATE. PTE FORSYTH WAS THEN POSTED TO 1 CMBG HQ AND SIG SQN EDMONTON AS A 211 RADOP. CPL FORSYTH DEPLOYED WITH THE LdSH (RC) TO KOSOVO IN 1999. UPON RETURN HE WAS POSTED TO 1 PPCLI WHERE HE BECAME THE FIRST LAV 3/TCCCS COMPANY SIGNALLER IN CAF, HIGHLIGHTED WITH A DEPOLYMENT TO BOSNIA IN 2002. SGT FORSYTH WAS THEN POSTED BACK TO 1 CMBG HQ & SIGNAL SQN IN 2004, WHERE HE HELD VARIOUS POSITIONS PRIOR TO A 10 MONTH DEPLOYMENT ON TF MERCURY IN AFGHANISTAN IN 2006 AS AN EXTENSION SECTION COMMANDER. UPON RETURN IN 2007 WO FORSYTH WAS POSTED TO 742 SIGNAL SQN, SERVING BOTH AS A TP WO AND OPERATIONS WO. AFTER 3 YEARS WO FORSYTH WAS POSTED TO 3 PPCLI AS THE SIGNALS PL WO ENDING WITH A DEPLOYMENT BACK TO AFGHANISTAN FOR 9 MONTHS AS PART OF OP ATTENTION, TRAINING THE AFGHAN NATIONAL ARMY WITH A COY 3 PPLCI. IN 2013 WO FORSYTH WAS POSTED TO 41 SIGNAL REGIMENT 2 SQN (RED DEER) IN THE RSS ROLE. A SHORT YEAR LATER MWO FORSYTH WAS POSTED TO CMTC WAINWRIGHT AS THE CMTC CHIEF COMM OP, THIS TIME NOT ON THE RECEIVING END OF EXERCISE MAPLE RESOLVE. IN 2015 MWO FORSYTH RETURNED TO 1 CMBG AS THE BRIGADE CHIEF COMM OP WHERE THE BDE TOOK ON SIGNIFICANT NEW CAPABILITIES. IN 2017 MWO FORSYTH WAS POSTED TO 3 CDSG SIGNAL SQN, HIGHLIGHTING HIS CAREER AS THE SQUADRON SERGEANT MAJOR. 2020 SAW COVID ARRIVE AND MWO FORSYTH’S POSTING TO NATO HQ IN VIRGINIA CANCELLED RESULTING IN A POSTING TO 4 DIVISION HQ AS THE DIVISION CHIEF COMM OP. IN 2021, MWO FORSYTH HAVING STARTED HIS CAREER AS A PTE AT 1 CMBG HQ AND SIGNAL SQN IN EDMONTON, FIGURED THE TIME WAS RIGHT TO CAP OFF HIS OUTSTANDING AND REWARDING CAREER.
3. NEIL WILL REMAIN IN THE EDMONTON AREA, TAKING SOME TIME FOR EDUCATION BEFORE PERSUING A CAREER IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR.
