- AFTER 18.5 YEARS OF LOYAL SERVICE, SGT CIBANGU MBIE-AUGUSTIN WILL OFFICIALLY RETIRE FROM THE CAF ON 25 SEP 24.
- SGT CIBANGU AUGUSTIN JOINED THE CAF IN OCTOBER 2006 AS A LAND SIGNAL TECHNICIAN. FOLLOWING TRAINING AT THE CAF SCHOOL OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATIONS, HE RECEIVED HIS QL3 QUALIFICATION AS A LCIS-TECH IN MAY 2008. HIS FIRST POSTING WAS TO 5 SERVICE BATTALION IN VALCARTIER. IN 2009, HE WAS POSTED AS A LCIS-TECH TO HEADQUARTERS AND SIGNAL SQUADRON, HQTE. FROM 2009 TO 2010, HE SERVED AS A PTOFC OPERATOR ON ROTO 8 IN KANDAHAR, AFGHANISTAN. IN 2011, SGT CIBANGU WAS DEPLOYED TO GRAFENWHOR, GERMANY, AS PART OF THE CAF COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS INTERPORTABILITY MANOEUVRES. IN 2013, HE RETURNED TO MONTREAL, WHERE HE WAS POSTED TO 202ND WORKSHOP DEPOT, AND USED AS A TAC COMM SYS TECH COMD DET AND ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN. IN MAY 2017, HE RETURNED AGAIN TO AFGHANISTAN, KABUL, DURING OPERATION OP ADDENDA, ROTO 6. IN JULY 2017, SGT CIBANGU WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE ARMY EQUIPMENT FIELDING CENTER, WHERE HE WOULD ACT AS A FLOOR PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR, UNTIL 2021, WHEN HE WAS TRANSFERRED ONCE AGAIN TO THE 202ND WORKSHOP DEPOT AND WHERE HE WOULD WORK AS AN IT PLANNER AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY OFFICER (ISSO). SINCE JULY 2022 AND UNTIL THE DAY OF HIS RETIREMENT, SGT CIBANGU WILL HAVE WORKED AS TEAM LEADER OF THE ELECTRONICS SECTION AT THE 202ND WORKSHOP DEPOT.
- SGT CIBANGU AUGUSTIN AND HIS WIFE BEATRICE DIENDE, SINCE HAVE FOUR CHILDREN, KRISTEL, YANNICK, BRANDON AND JHESSY WHO ALL LIVE IN REPENTIGNY, QUEBEC.
