1. ON 09 AUGUST 2021 SERGEANT MAXIME (MAX) CLOUTIER, CD RETIRES FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AFTER 15 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA.

2. MAX JOINED THE REGULAR FORCE IN JANUARY 2006 AS AN ARMY COMMUNICATOR RESEARCH OPERATOR (COMM RSCH OPERATOR) FROM THE CANADIAN FORCES RECRUITING CENTRE TROIS-RIVIÈRES DETACHMENT. HE EASILY COMPLETED HIS BASIC MILITARY QUALIFICATION AT ST-JEAN, QC IN APRIL 2006. HE THEN ATTENDED THE CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS (CFSCE) AT CANADIAN FORCES BASE (CFB) KINGSTON, ON TO START HIS QUALIFICATION LEVEL 3 (QL3) COURSE AND SUBSEQUENT JOURNEY AS A COMM RSCH OPERATOR (ALSO AFFECTIONATELY AND COLLOQUIALLY KNOWN AS RUBBERHEADS). UPON GRADUATION FROM HIS QL3, THEN PRIVATE CLOUTIER WAS POSTED TO CANADIAN FORCES STATION (CFS) LEITRIM IN OTTAWA, ON.

3. IN JULY 2010, AFTER COMPLETION OF HIS QL5 (NOW A SUBSTANTIVE CORPORAL), MAX WAS POSTED TO MARITIME OPERATIONS SUPPORT & INTELLIGENCE CENTRE – TRINITY, IN HALIFAX, NS, WHERE HE EMBARKED ON HIS ‘NAVAL CAREER’ WITHIN THE OCCUPATION. WHILE IN HALIFAX, HE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY POSTED TO HER MAJESTY’S CANADIAN SHIP IROQUOIS IN 2012 WHERE HE WAS AFFORDED THE OPPORTUNITY TO ‘SAIL THE OPEN SEAS’ AND CERTAINLY EARNED HIS ‘SEA LEGS’. MAX RETURNED TO THE HEART OF THE COMM RSCH COMMUNITY, CFS LEITRIM, DURING THE SUMMER OF 2012. IN THE LATE FALL OF 2013 AND EARLY WINTER OF 2014, MAX WENT ON HIS PRIMARY LEADERSHIP QUALIFICATION COURSE AT CFB VALCARTIER AND WAS PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF MASTER CORPORAL.

4. FROM THE SUMMER OF 2015 UNTIL HIS RETIREMENT IN 2021, MAX WAS A MEMBER OF CFSCE AT CFB KINGSTON, ON. HE WAS AN OUTSTANDING COMM RSCH INSTRUCTOR AND HIS FINAL CHALLENGE WAS THAT AS A STANDARDS WRITER. IT WAS ALSO DURING THIS TIME THAT HE EARNED HIS PROMOTION TO HIS PRESENT RANK OF SERGEANT. TO CLOSE OUT HIS INTERESTING CAREER, HE WAS A FORTUNATE WITNESS TO HIS OCCUPATION’S TITLE CHANGE TO SIGNALS INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST.

5. MAX, HIS WIFE ROXANNE, AND CHILDREN GUILLAUME, JACOB, MARGUERITE, SARAROSE, AND OLIVIER HAVE RELOCATED TO TIMMINS, ON; TO ENJOY THE QUIET LIFE. HE WILL MISS ALL THE CLOSE AND PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS HE ESTABLISHED OVER THE YEARS. IN LIEU OF A FORMAL DEPARTURE WITH DIGNITY (DWD) CEREMONY, MAX WILL BE LOOKING FORWARD TO RECEIVING CONGRATULATORY MESSAGES, ANECDOTES, AND RETIREMENT BEST WISHES (HUMOROUS OR OTHERWISE).
