RETIREMENT – WARRANT OFFICER JAKE OUELLET, CD, 00383 – SIG OP

1.  AFTER 23 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES (CAF) WO JAKE OUELLET WILL BE RETIRING ON THE 9TH NOV 22.

2. JAKE FIRST ENROLLED WITH THE CAF ON 23 JANUARY 1999 WITH THE RESERVE AS A COMBAT ENGINEER IN QUEBEC CITY. HE THEN TRANSFERRED TO THE REGULAR FORCES AS A SIGNAL OPERATOR IN SEPTEMBER 2002. AFTER COMPLETING TRADE TRAINING IN KINGSTON, HE WAS POSTED TO HQ AND SIGS SQN, 5 CANADIAN MECHANISED BRIGADE GROUP VALCARTIER, THEN 76 COMMUNICATIONS REGIMENT IN OTTAWA, CFSCE, CANSOFCOM, 33 SIGS AS THE OPS WO AND HIS FINAL POSTING WAS WITH CFIOG HQ. HE HAS ALSO COMPLETED 2 TOUR IN AFGHANISTAN AND 1 IN HAITI.

3. HE AND HIS WIFE JOLYANNE ALONG WITH THEIR 2 CHILDREN WILL REMAIN IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION. HE WOULD LIKE TO ESPECIALLY RECOGNIZE HIS FAMILY FOR THEIR SUPPORT DURING HIS CAREER. JAKE IS LOOKING FORWARD TO HIS NEW PATH AND WORK WITH RCMP AT THE CANADIAN FIREARM PROGRAM, SO HE COULD HAVE MORE FREE TIME AND NO RISK OF BEING POSTED IN SOME OBSCURE BASE FAR AWAY.

4.  A SMALL PRIVATE FUNCTION WILL BE HELD LATER DURING SPRING 2023 WHEN THE PATIO ARE REOPEN AND THE WEATHER IS WARMER. THE INFORMATION WILL BE SENT BY EMAIL IN THE SPRING TO THE PERSON CONCERNED.
