1. WARRANT OFFICER GLEN LAMBE WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 29 MAY 2021, AFTER 25 PLUS YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA.

2. WO LAMBE JOINED THE CAF IN 1995 AT THE CFRC IN ST JOHN’S NL AND WAS SOON OFF TO HIS BASIC TRAINING IN ST JEAN QUEBEC. FOLLOWING HIS BASIC TRAINING, HE RETURNED TO ST JOHN’S AND WAS EMPLOYED WITH 728 COMMUNICATIONS SQUADRON. WHILE WAITING TO BE LOADED ON THE NEXT AVAILABLE POET COURSE, PTE LAMBE COMPLETED HIS DRIVER WHEEL COURSE AND WAS INVOLVED IN SEVERAL TRAINING EXERCISES IN SUPPORT OF THE SQN. IN AUG 1996 PTE LAMBE WAS OFF TO THE CANADIAN FORCES SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION AND ELECTRONICS (CFSCE), WHERE HE COMPLETED POET AND HIS QL 3’S. HE THEN RETURNED TO ST JOHNS IN OCTOBER 1997. WHILE WAITING FOR HIS COMPONENT TRANSFER (CT) FROM THE RESERVES TO THE REGULAR FORCES, HE COMPLETED HIS QL 4’S AND WAS PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF CORPORAL. HIS CT CAME THROUGH IN JAN/FEB 1998 AND PTE LAMBE WAS THEN ON HIS WAY BACK TO KINGSTON IN MARCH WHERE WAS POSTED TO THE 1ST CANADIAN DIVISION HEADQUARTERS AND SIGNALS REGIMENT. WHILE POSTED TO THE REGIMENT, PTE LAMBE WAS PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF CORPORAL IN 2000, AND WAS INVOLVED IN SEVERAL DOMESTIC OPS TO INCLUDE, Y2K, G8 SUMMIT, PROVOST UNITED, AS WELL AS A COMMUNICATIONS COMPATIBILITY EXERCISE IN TAMPA BAY FLORIDA. CPL LAMBE ALSO COMPLETED A TOUR TO THE GOLAN HEIGHTS FROM SEPTEMBER 2000 – MARCH 2001. UPON HIS RETURN HE WAS EMPLOYED WITH THE NOW CANADIAN FORCES JOINT SIGNALS REGIMENT AND WAS EMPLOYED WITH THE NCCIS LT AND HVY DET’S AT DALTON AVENUE. PROMOTED TO MCPL IN 2003 HE WAS EMPLOYED AS THE 2 I/C OF THE TCCS SECTION. IN 2004 MCPL LAMBE ACCEPTED A POSTING TO THE 3 AREA SUPPORT GROUP SIGNALS SQUADRON WHERE HE WAS EMPLOYED IN THE PC MAINTENANCE SHOP 2 I/C AND IN SHOP I/C POSITIONS AS WELL AS THE 2 I/C OF THE NON TAC DET A COUPLE OF YEARS LATER. WHILE POSTED TO 3 ASG, MCPL LAMBE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR SEVERAL LARGE PROJECTS TO INCLUDE THE ANNUAL COMPUTER AND PERIPHERAL UPGRADES FOR THE BASE AS WELL AS OTHER UNITS ACROSS THE ATLANTIC PROVINCES TO INCLUDE NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR, THE TCCS UPGRADE AND FLASHING PROJECT AS WELL AS THE MOVE OF THE ENTIRE BASE GAGETOWN HEADQUARTERS EQUIPMENT AND RESOURCES TO MENTION A FEW. PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF SERGEANT IN 2008, SGT LAMBE WAS AGAIN POSTED BACK TO KINGSTON ONT AND BRIEFLY EMPLOYED AS A QL 6A INSTRUCTOR FOR THE LCIS CELL. SGT LAMBE EVENTUALLY MOVED INTO THE 1 SQN OP’S SGT POSITION IN SUPPORT OF THE SENIOR NCM COURSES AS WELL AS THE OFFICER/NCM COMBINED COURSES. SGT LAMBE WAS ALSO EMPLOYED AS THE BSOC COURSE WO AS WELL AS THE CELE AIR COURSE WO. SHORTLY THEREAFTER SGT LAMBE MOVED UPTO THE HQ OP’S SGT POSITION AND CONTINUED TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR ALL COURSES WITHIN CFSCE. PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF WO IN 2012, WO LAMBE WAS ONCE AGAIN POSTED AND WAS ON HIS WAY BACK TO GAGETOWN TO THE COMBAT TRAINING CENTER HEADQUARTERS AND WAS EMPLOYED AS THE QUALIFICATION STANDARD AND TRAINING PLAN MANAGER FOR THE NEWLY DEVELOPED ACISS CSS/CST TECHNICAN TRADE. WHILE AT CTC THERE WERE MANY CHALLENGES THAT REQUIRED UNDIVIDED ATTENTION WHICH INCLUDED THE DEVOLUTION OF THE DIRECTOR OF ARMY TRAINING TO CTC, THE SPEC PAY ISSUE, DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING NEWLY DEVELOPED COURSE WARE AND STANDARDS AS WELL AS THE MULTITUDE OF PLARS FOR PERSONNEL REQUESTING EQUIVALENCY FROM THE OLD TRADES INTO THE NEW TRADE STRUCTURE. THIS PROVED TO BE QUITE CHALLENGING AT ALL LEVELS AND CONSUMED THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME FOR THE QS/TP MANAGERS AND ALL OTHERS INVOLVED. IN 2016/2017 WO LAMBE WAS TO BE PROMOTED; HOWEVER, DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES WO LAMBE HAD ALREADY BEEN IN THE MEDICAL RELEASE STREAM AND DECIDED TO DECLINE THE POSTING AND PROMOTION.

3. WO LAMBE WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE SOLDIERS, LEADERS, AND CIVILIAN MEMBERS WHO TOOK THE TIME TO MENTOR AND SUPPORT HIM THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER. THE VALUABLE ADVICE AND EXPERIENCE GAINED WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN AND WILL HELP HIM GREATLY AS HE TRANSITIONS INTO CIVILLIAN LIFE.

4. WO LAMBE WILL RELEASE IN THE BURTON N.B. AREA, WITH HIS WIFE CATHY, WHERE HE PLANS TO RELAX, DO SOME ATV’ING, CAMPING, SPEND TIME WITH HIS GRANDKIDS AND TAKE THE TIME TO PLAN WHAT HIS NEXT ENDEAVOUR WILL BE.

6. A LOW-KEY DEPART WITH DIGNITY WILL BE HELD AT A LATER DATE TBA.

7. ANECDOTES, STORIES, CONGRATULATORY MESSAGES, AND ANY PICTURES ARE WELCOME. PLEASE SENT BY EMAIL TO MWO STEVE PRICE ([email protected]) CSN 432-3814.

Glenn thank you for your service and although we had a short time together in JSR it was a great experience. Enjoy your well deserved retirement and when I am passing through NB I will give you a shout.
