1. AFTER 9 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS OF DEDICATED AND LOYAL SERVICE TO CANADA, CORPORAL SIMON DIONNE-COUTURE WILL BE RETIRING FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 4 NOVEMBER 2020.

2. CPL DIONNE-COUTURE JOINED THE CAF ON 25 APRIL 2011 AND STARTED HIS CAREER WITH PAT PLATOON AT 5 CBMG HQ & SIGS IN CFB VALCARTIER. IN 2012, HE WAS POSTED TO THE CANADIAN FORCE SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION AND ELECTRONICS (CFSCE) TO RECEIVE HIS ACISS QUALIFICATION.

3. FROM 2012 TO 2016, HE WAS PART OF CFJSR (CANADIAN FORCES JOINT SUPPORT REGIMENT). HE BECAME QUALIFIED ON THE HIGH CAPACITY LINE OF SIGHT (HCLOS) AND TACTICAL SYSTEM SATELLITE (TSS) AND QUICKLY BECAME THE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT. HE THEN WAS POSTED TO CFB WAINWRIGHT IN 2013, SETTING UP MAIN LINKS AND REAR LINKS IN THE FIELD FOR VARIOUS REQUIREMENTS. CPL DIONNE-COUTURE’S FIRST CHILD WAS BORN IN MAY 2014. HE CHOSE TO MISS HIS DEPLOYMENT TO REMAIN WITH HIS FAMILY. HE ALSO TOOK PART IN OP NANOOK, WHERE HE WAS A (TSS) OPERATOR AND WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND PROPER USE OF THE MAIN LINK FOR THE OPERATION.

4. FROM 2016 TO 2019 HE REMAINED IN CFJSR AND JOINED THE COMPLEXITY OF THE COMSEC ENVIRONMENT ENVRIONMENT WITHIN THE CFJSR COMSEC TEAM AS AN ALTERNATE COMSEC CUSTODIAN. HIS SECOND CHILD WAS BORN IN NOVEMBER 2016.

5. CPL DIONNE-COUTURE JOINED 76 COMM REGIMENT IN 2019 WHILE WORKING AT 766 COMM SQN WITHIN THE COMSEC VAULT AS A DISTRIBUTOR OF COMSEC MATERIAL, WHERE HE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE DIRECT SUPPORT TO OP REASSURANCE BY AS ON SITE AS A COURIER.

6. HE JOINED THE COMSEC SECTION OF THE 764 COMM SQN IN 2020 AND BECAME PART OF THE SCIP (SECURE COMMUNICATION INTEROPERABILITY PROTOCOL) SECTION, WHICH IS IN CHARGE OF PROVIDING SECURE PHONE SUPPORT TO ALL NCR USERS. HE LATER EXPRESSED HIS INTENT TO LOOK FOR OTHER CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES BY RELEASING FROM THE MILITARY.

7. CPL DIONNE-COUTURE WILL REMAIN WITHIN THE NCR AND ENJOY A WELL-DESERVED RETIREMENT WITH HIS SPOUSE MELANIE AND THEIR TWO YOUNG CHILDREN EMMA AND LIAM.
