Introduction

The Military Communications & Electronics Museum Foundation (“the Foundation”) is a registered not-for-profit charity in Ontario, Canada. We are committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of our donors, members, and supporters.

  1. What Does “Internal and External Publication” Mean?

Your information may be used to publicly acknowledge your support of the Foundation, which can include:

  • Newsletters and annual reports
  • The Museum or Foundation websites
  • Donor plaques or displays inside the Museum
  • Other printed or digital recognition

No information will be published without appropriate consent where required.

  1. Donor Achievement Recognition

When you reach a specific donation threshold, the Foundation will contact you to:

  • Obtain your consent before any public recognition
  • Allow you to decline public recognition, in which case no identifying information will be published

If consent is given, we may publicly share:

  • Your name, initials, and surname
  • Your rank or former rank
  • Your donor status and recognition level

This recognition may appear in printed materials, online platforms, and Museum displays.

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • Secure storage of physical and digital records
  • Restricted access to authorized personnel only
  • Safe communication and information handling practices

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

We do not hold or store credit card or banking information of any donor.

Donations processed through third-party platforms such as Zeffy, CanadaHelps, and Canada Impact are subject to their respective privacy policies.
These platforms provide us with the name of the donor unless the donor specifically chooses to remain anonymous.
They do not share any financial information beyond the donation amount.

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request corrections to your information
  • Withdraw consent to the use or disclosure of your information (subject to legal obligations)
  • Ask questions or file a complaint about our privacy practices
