Passed away peacefully with family by his side at Hillsdale Estates on Thursday January 4th, 2024 in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Geraldine (nee Davis) and his sons Derek Wayne and Captain Derek Craig. Loving father of Lorne (Laurie) and Donna Nelson (Jerry). Cherished Papa of Jakob, Troy and Zachary. Predeceased by his brother Ron (late Shirley). Dear son of the late Walter Finney and Georgina Wilson – Finney. Will be missed by his many family and friends.

Doug was a distinguished veteran with the Royal Canadian Corp of Signals, during the Korean War; life member and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43; Past President of the Canadian Korean Veterans Association.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE 847 King Street, East, on Tuesday January 9th, 2024 from 4:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday January 10th, 2024 at 1:30 pm. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 (471 Simcoe St S, Oshawa)
