HEASLER, Hubert Harold (Hugh)
1926-2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh on Sunday 1 August 2021 at the Kingston General Hospital (KHSC). Predeceased by his precious wife of 64 wonderful years, Celia (April 16, 2019) and survived by his daughters Jane Dumbleton (Bob) and Sherri Fenlon (Brian), brothers Bernard and Keith, and sister Winona Perry. Hugh was the dear grandpa to Briana and Corey Dumbleton, Rodney Linklater and great-grandpa to Macy and Claire Danielson.

Hugh was born in Gananoque, ON. on August 8, 1926. He served 30 years in the RCAF including being the first and longest serving Commanding Officer, (May 1971 – August 1976) of the only Crypto Maintenance Unit in the Canadian Forces, plus posting to North Bay, Germany, France, Cold Lake, Ottawa, Trenton and Kingston. He had training courses in Clinton, Senneterre, Centralia and Keesler Mississippi (twice). Hugh retired from the military service on 29 December 1981, then spent 9 years preparing income tax returns at H&R Block before becoming the first president of Tax Plus.

In honour of Hugh and due to Covid, a small service was held on Tuesday 10 August in the Chapel at the James Reid Funeral Home.
