It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of James Brittain at Perley Health on Aug. 15th, 2022. Proudly hailing from Minto, New Brunswick, Jim attended Minto Memorial High School where he received the Governor General’s Academic Medal. In 1965, he graduated from UNB in electrical engineering and received his Masters at RMC, Kingston. Living in Canada and England, his career spanned 34 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, and 12 years at Valcom Consulting Group. He touched many lives as Commanding Officer of 1 CBG HQ and Sig Sqn Calgary, as Career Manager NDHQ, and as president of the Orleans Nordic Ski Club.

Predeceased by his parents Lillian and Norman Brittain, and his brother Bob Brittain. He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Betty, his sons Andrew and Michael (Paula), granddaughter Vera, his brother Bill Brittain (Barb), brothers-in-law Bill and Tom (Joanne) McEwen, nieces and nephews Chris, Jonathan, Dawn, Eric, Jennifer, Darryl, and many good friends.

Many thanks to Perley Health SBSU unit for their wonderful care. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in James name can be made to Perley Health, the Alzheimer’s Society, or the Prestonvale Cemetery ([email protected]).

The Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday October 22nd 2022,  from 2pm to 5pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Orleans
