John Donald Poulos (1939 – 2019)

The passing of John Donald Poulos, husband of the late Lenora (Campbell) Poulos, occurred on Wednesday, August 7, 2019
at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 17, 1939 in Saint John, NB he was the son of the late
John and Jenny (Winchester) Poulos. John joined the Army at the age of 16 as a boy soldier and was a member of
the Signal Corps. Following his service he joined the family business and caught the entrepreneurial bug, eventually
opening several restaurants of his own. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93, and a former member
of Search and Rescue. John also taught firearm and hunter safety. A beloved father, brother and uncle, John enjoyed
time spent with family and cruising in his convertible. He liked to play darts and cribbage and enjoyed classical music.

John is survived by his sons, Peter Poulos (Jennifer) and Stephen Poulos (Cheryl); sister, Helena “Sister” Case;
several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, John was predeceased by his sister, Joan Poulos,
and brothers, Arthur and William “Sonny” Poulos.

Visitation will take place on Sunday August 11, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr.,
Fredericton, NB. There will be a Legion Tribute Service by Legion Branch #93 on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 6:45 pm
at York Funeral Home. A Private Graveside Service will take place at Erb’s Cove Cemetery at a later date.
