It is with regret that we inform you of the passing of MCpl (Ret’d) Iona E. Hiltz on Saturday 27 June 2015. Please note that we were just informed of her passing this week by a former colleague from Debert.

MCpl (Ret`d) Iona E. Hiltz “Myke” (1949 – 2015)

Age 65, of Diligent River, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at home. Born in Advocate Harbour, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Edith (Mahar) Hiltz. She was a former Teletype technician until her retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1993.
She is survived by brothers, William, Toronto, Ont.; David, Barrie, Ont.; Bruce, Diligent River; Burton (Florence), Coldwater, Ont.; Sheldon (Janet), Parrsboro; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Bayna. The funeral service was held on Friday 24 July 2015 at the Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, NS with Rev.
