MCpl Roman Joseph

MCpl Roman Joseph enrolled in the CAF in Sept of 1987. After completing his Basic training, he promptly made his way to St-Jean for some second language training in Nov 1987. He was then on his way to Kingston in 1988 for Tel OP training.

Roman has had a lengthy and active career; he was posted to Penhold, AB as a member of 743 Sqn; Winnipeg, MB as a member of 733 Sqn; Ottawa, ON with 7 Comm Grp HQ; Yellowknife, NWT with JTFN HQ; Edmonton, AB with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse Royal Canadians; Calgary, AB with the 1 CMBG HQ & SIG SQN; Esquimalt, BC at BIS and Comox, BC as a COMCEN Det Commander.

Roman was also deployed to Afghanistan twice and once to Croatia, part of OP MANDARIN.

Roman was born on Aug 25 1968 in Vancouver. He passed away peacefully on Friday Oct 12th after being taken off life support.

Last Thursday, while on leave in Vancouver, MCpl Roman Joseph suffered a brain aneurysm and was put on life support shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, he was taken off life support on Friday, Oct 12, in the evening and subsequently passed away. MCpl Joseph was an ACISS Core posted at BIS in Esquimalt.

There will be a Traditional Indigenous Celebration/Ceremony being held for MCpl Joseph at Chief Joe Mathias Center in North Vancouver commencing at 1900 Tuesday 16 October 2018 (Military Members are invited to attend), followed by a Funeral Service held at the same location commencing at 1000 Wednesday 17 October 2018

All BIS members are invited to attend at their own cost. (you will be responsible for your own ferry and hotel) (Military members must submit a leave pass)

Dress for civilian members will be appropriate attire
