MWO (Ret’d) Hugh John Caldwell

HUGH JOHN CALDWELL, formerly of Ladywood, Manitoba born August 10, 1920, had a gentle and peaceful passing in Red Deer, Alberta on February 27, 2018. He was a wonderful role model of a decent and honourable, kind hearted gentleman of a man. He served in the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Corp of Signals in both Italy and Holland. He retired from the military in 1971 with the rank of Master Warrant Officer after which he also worked for CP Rail and the RCMP in British Columbia. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen, parents, Arthur and Anne Caldwell, as well as his brothers and one sister, Don, Ron, Roy and Jean, and is survived by nieces and nephews. For the last 15 years of his life, he made his home with his niece Jeannette Wood and family both in Victoria and Red Deer and will be very much missed. Interment is scheduled for July 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Ladywood, Manitoba. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23.8
