Master Warrant Officer (Retired) Ross Walter Hurley, former Comm Tech 224 (1931 – 2015)

It is with regret that we inform you of the passing of Ross W. Hurley on December 22, 2015 at the age of 84.

Loving husband of Marie and loving father of Bev Weaver (Scott) and Cheryl Hurley. Cherished and much loved grandfather of Howard (Su-An), James, Logan, Michaela, Hannah, and Ben; great-grandfather of Kennedy. He is survived by his dear sister Joan. Ross was born in Herbert, Saskatchewan on February 19, 1931, moved to Toronto when he was ten and attended high school there. He worked for Remington Rand after high school and then joined the RCAF in 1953, retiring from the military in 1986 as a Master Warrant Officer. After retirement, he was the post-master of the CFB Penhold post office. Ross was very proud of his military career and of service to his country. He was very involved in the neighborhood watch program in Red Deer and tirelessly worked to bring the program to many areas of Red Deer. He loved to meet and talk to people, no matter the topic. He will be sadly missed by his family, including many nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on Wednesday 30 December 2015 at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 45th Street, Red Deer, Alberta.
