Old comrade Joseph Kenneth (Ken) LeClair

Ken peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Monday, 30 September 2019. He was a veteran of the Armed Forces, born in North Rustico, PEI, aged 76. Ken was a Royal Canadian Corps of Signals Soldier Apprentice and, later, a Radio Operator.

Ken is survived by his wife Cecelia LeClair (nee McNeill); his step-children: Andrea (Jeff), Paula, Rachael and Brad (Elaine); grandchildren: Laura, Justin, Luke, Brandon, Tyler; his children: Christy (Pete), Kelley, Joanne (Brian) and Kenny (Terri-Lynn); grandchildren: Samantha, Maxwell, Samuel, Alex, Kyla and James; and great grandchildren: Asher, Damien, Daniel, Charlie and Claudia Marie.

He is also survived by his brothers, Michael (Carolyn) and Roger (Christine); sisters, Diana (George) and Patricia (Art); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral for Kenneth LeClair, of North Rustico, was held on Monday, October 7, 2019, at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico. The presider for the mass of Christian burial was Reverend Arulraj Santiago, who proclaimed the Gospel and delivered the homily. Honorary pallbearers were everyone present. Bearers of Honour were son, Kenny LeClair; daughter-in-law, Terri-Lynn Sharpe-LeClair; and granddaughter, Laura Smith. Among those in attendance were representatives of the Charlottetown and North Rustico Legions. Interment took place in the church cemetery where Father Raj conducted the committal service. Representative from both Legions led a cemetery service, where Chris Gallant played the Last Post.
