Sadly, 8 Wing/CFB Trenton lost a member of our CAF team with the passing of Cpl Gilbert Murphy. Cpl Murphy was a member of the Aerospace and Telecommunications Engineering Support Squadron (a 1 Canadian Air Division lodger unit here in Trenton). The thoughts and prayers of everyone at 8 Wing/CFB Trenton and the Royal Canadian Air Force are with Cpl Murphy’s family and friends in the wake of this tragedy.

Gilbert recently completed 5 years in the Regular Force and spent 22 years serving as a Reservist with the Cadet Instructor Cadre, currently serving with the 704 Air Cadet Sqn and a number of years volunteering with Search and Rescue, PEI and with the Royal Canadian Legion.

Visitation will be held at the WEAVER Life Centre – 29 Bay St., Trenton on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 4 – 8pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Our Lady of Peace Chapel, 91 Namao Drive, CFB Trenton on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11 am.
