09 Apr 23

It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Ronald (Ron) Winston Burnley on Easter Sunday, April 9th, 2023, at the age of 86 from pulmonary fibrosis.

He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 61 years, Betty Burnley (nee Roddy), his devoted children, Lana, Pam (Harold), Sandra, (Chris) and Brian (Leanne), and his adoring grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas (Hannah), Daniel (Shannon), Cassandra (Tyler), Christopher, Kyle, Clare and Mae.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Beatrice Burnley (nee Court), his sister Kathleen, brother Ken, and sister-in-law Marie Allard (Ted). Missed by his sisters, Louise (Jim), Grace (Bob), Connie (Doug), brother-in-law Bob Roddy (Patricia), and numerous nieces and nephews and loving friends.

A man of integrity, values, and service, Dad was proud to have served our country as a soldier and officer in the Canadian Armed Forces for 29 years. These qualities also shone through in his remarkably kind, loving and compassionate nature with his family and all he met.

Dad had a warm smile and a kind heart, and everyone he knew loved and appreciated him.

He was devoted to Betty, who he considered his rock, and they treasured their life together. To his children, he was the best Dad we could have asked for. Family was the most important thing in his life and he told us all how lucky he was. We were the lucky ones.

Visitation will be Friday April 14th 10am – 12pm, service to follow at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd Orleans, Ontario K4A 3P7 613-830-2305 [email protected]
