Born in Weyburn, Sask., on May 30, 1936, he was a son of Andrew Laird Watson and Catherine Dorothy (Bell) Watson.  Neil joined the Hudson’s Bay Company after attending Luther College and Balfour Tech, working in Uranium City and Fort Chipewyan, before joining the RCAF in 1956.  Neil served in the RCAF for 28 years, retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces with his family to Lower Sackville, in 1984.  He later worked at CFB Halifax, at Commfac Marcom and FCC (later IDN) until 1998.  Neil enjoyed living in many places during his employment, and was stationed at Clinton, Trenton, Whitehorse, Greenwood, Debert, Ramstein, Germany, Portage la Prairie, and Penhold.  Neil is survived by his children, Duane (Lori), Valerie (Glen) and Kevin (Tina).  He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Canavan) Watson in 1992.  Cremation will take place and a private family ceremony will be in Riverbank Cemetery in Hantsport, next to Margaret, at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of JA Snow Funeral Home.  Online condolences can be directed to: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com.  Those who knew Dad couldn’t help but love him.  He was one of the kindest, soft-hearted, stubborn people to enter into your life.  He loved to give his grandkids some spare change, funny money he’d call it, sending them into the dollar store to “go wild”.  He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
