Sgt Glynn Parsons, CD (Retired) – 00109 ATIS TECH
Aged 56, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 10, 2019 in Greenwood.
A son of Jerry and Naomi Parsons, he was born on October 25, 1962, in Carmenville, N.L. Along with his parents, he is survived by his loving daughter, Katelyn Quinn (Adam) and their expectant daughter; sister, Trudy Downey (Bert); brother, Dennis Parsons (Nicole); and a number of nieces and a nephew.
Glynn served with the Canadian Forces for almost 35 years which included: CFB Cornwallis; CFB Kingston, Ont.; CFS Debert; Detachment Charlottetown, PEI; CFB Borden, Ont.; CFB Halifax, CFB Gander, N.L., and lastly, CFB Greenwood, as well as two tours in Alert, NU.
He was predeceased by both sets of grandparents; Stanley and Clementine Parsons and Leslie and Frederica Oake; along with numerous aunts and uncles.
The body has been cremated by Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, and a family burial took place on October 21st in Victoria Cove, N.L. A Celebration of Life took place in Saint Mark’s Chapel on CFB Greenwood, on October 26th, at 2 p.m. The family requested family flowers only, but donations in Glynn’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
