WO Dwayne Alfred Thomas, CD, RCCS
June 16, 1966 – October 19, 2020

He is loved unconditionally and eternally and will be treasured forever.

Dwayne was born in Vernon, BC and was predeceased by his father, Carl Victor Thomas. He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his family: his wife Tamara of 27 years; daughter Mackenzie; son Cameron; mother Carol; brother Darryl; sisters Lauralee and Kerry; sister-in-law Tanya; niece Justine; great-niece Oakley; brother-in-law Paul; and nephews Michael and Tyler. He will also be missed by his many other relatives and friends and his beloved fur friend “Jack”. Dwayne will be remembered for his service as a Warrant Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, proudly serving for 31 years. His tours included Syria, Rwanda, Bosnia and Afghanistan.

Deepest appreciation and special thanks to Morley, who spent many hours at appointments and countless nights in the emergency with Dwayne. To all who visited him, you provided a great deal of comfort to him during those trying times. Additionally, the family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Amigo and his Palliative Care Team at the Tertiary Palliative Care Unit 43, Grey Nuns Community Hospital. They demonstrated the highest degree of professionalism, care and compassion, and the many Doctors and nursing staff at the University of Alberta Hospital, Sturgeon Community Hospital, Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton Garrison, and Morinville Palliative Home Care that attended to Dwayne on various occasions.

A Celebration of Dwayne’s Life will be held in November at Park Memorial Funeral Home, with Padre Macintyre officiating. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, this event is private and by invitation only by the family or the Designated Assistant.
