The MacInnis family is deeply saddened to announce the death of Robert (Bob) Douglas MacInnis, age 71.
Bob passed away suddenly at home on June 2, 2021, with his wife by his side.
Survived by his loving wife Marilyn, daughter Maggie (Jeff), son John, step-children Tracey (Paul), Darryl (Tammy) and Krista (Adam). Loving grandfather to Gregory (Ashley), Kale, Cheyenne (Joshua), Aliya and Austin. Beloved great-grandfather to Nova. Bob also leaves to mourn his dear brother Rick (Judy), and sisters Betty, Pam (Gerald), and Pat (Gord), bothers-in-law Harold (Sandra) and David (Debi); along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bob was predeceased by his father Donald, mother Janet (Ryles), brothers Donald and Wayne, nephews Waynie, Andrew and Jason, brother-in-law Stan.
Bob proudly served 33 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. Although he joined the Air Force in 1966, he spent most of his career serving with the Army (Signals) across Canada, Germany and Cyprus, until his retirement in Kingston, Ontario in 1998.
Bob was a longtime member with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 631 Collins Bay. There he enjoyed reminiscing with his “buddies” and playing pool.
Throughout his life he was involved with many sports, including hockey, baseball and golf. He continued to be an avid golfer.
Cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
