Members of the C&E Branch took part in this year’s IRON WARRIOR competition held at Petawawa on the last weekend in August. This challenging event, which involves a ruck march, a canoe portage and then paddling said canoe down the Ottawa River, is a mental and physical trial for all participants, and the C&E Branch was well represented in this year’s event. Units participating included 2 CMBG HQ & Sigs, 21 EW Regt, 33 Sig Regt, 77 Line Regt, and a combined team from CFIOG HQ and CFS Leitrim.
Noteworthy accomplishments included the CFIOG / Leitrim team placing 3rd overall all in the minor team standings, a 4th place marathon finish for Cpl Sales and a 5th place overall female finish in the sprint for MCpl Goetz from 2 CMBG HQ & Sigs.
