1. AFTER MORE THAN 28 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, CAPT RIVERIN WILL RETIRE FROM THE ROYAL CANADIAN CORPS OF SIGNALS AND CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON FEBRUARY 21 2019.

2. CAPT RIVERIN JOINED THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES IN NOVEMBER 1990 AS AN AIR FORCE TECHNICIAN OF THE 500 SERIES. FOLLOWING THE 1992 FORCES REDUCTION PLAN, HE RECEIVED A COMPULSORY OCCUPATION TRANFER TO THE TELETYPE OPERATOR TRADE, WHERE HE EJNOYED POSTINGS TO 743 COMMUNICATION SQUADRON DETACHMENT SUFFIELD, 743 COMMUNICATION SQUADRON PENHOLD AND 715 COMMUNICATION SQUADRON ST-HUBERT.

3. IL AUGUST 1997, HE OBTAINED A VOLUNTARY OCCUPATION TRANSFER TO THE LAND COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS (LCIS) TECHNICIAN OCCUPATION. UPON COMPLETING IS EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN ELECTRONICS, HE WAS POSTED TO 5 HEADQUARTERS AND SIGNALS SQUADRON (5 HQ AND SIGS SQN) VALCARTIER FROM OCTOBER 1998 TO JULY 2006 WHERE HE OCCUPIED THE FUNCTIONS OF LCIS TECHNICIAN, MOBILE REPAIR TEAM DETACHMENT COMMANDER AND SHOP 2 I/C. DURING THAT TIME, HE DEPLOYED TO THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC, THE FORMER YUGOSLAVIA AND AFGHANISTAN. HE WAS ALSO IMPLICATED ON DOMESTIC ACTIVITIES SUCH AS THE YEAR 2000 BUT, THE AMERICAS SUMMIT AND THE G7 SUMMIT.

4. UPON PROMOTION TO THE RANK OF SERGEANT, HE WAS POSTED TO THE MAINTENANCE COMPANY OF 5 SERVICE BATTALION IN JULY 2006 AS RADIO MAINTENANCE SECTION COMMANDER, HE RETURNED TO 5 HQ AND SIGS SQN IN MAY 2008 AS THE LCIS SECTION COMMANDER. PROMOTED TO WARRANT OFFICER (WO) IN JUNE 2009, HE WAS POSTED TO 764 COMM SQN OTTAWA IN JULY OF THE SAME YEAR AS THE TECHNICAL MAINTENANCE WO FOR THE RED NETWORKS INFRASTRUCTURE. UPON PROMOTION TO THE MASTER WARRANT OFFICER RANK IN JULY 2012, HE WAS APPOINTED AS THE 5 CANADIAN MECHANIZED BRIGADE GROUP (5 CMBG) FOREMAN OF SIGNALS UNTIL HE RECEIVED AN OFFICER COMMISSION IN MAY 2016 AND ASSUMED THE FUNCTION OF 5 CMBG G6 OPERATIONS AND PLANS. IN JANUARY 2017, HE IS DETACHED TO THE 2 CANADIAN DIVISION HEADQUARTER WHERE IS OCCUPIED THE FUNCTIONS OF G6 PLANS-2 UNTIL HIS RETIREMENT.

5. CAPT RIVERIN ACCEPTED A PUBLIC SERVANT POSITION WITHIN SHARED SERVICES CANADA WHERE HE WILL OCCUPY THE FUNCTION OF SERVICE DELIVERY MANAGER FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF NATIONAL DEFENCE IN QUEBEC AND NUNAVUT. HE PLANS TO REMAIN IN THE QUEBEC CITY REGION WITH HIS SPOUSE NADIA UNTIL HIS DEFINITIVE RETIREMENT FROM WORK.

6. A DEPARTURE WITH DIGNNITY CEREMONY IN HIS HONOR WILL BE HELD AT THE LA CAGE AU SPORT RESTAURANT 6476 BOUL WILFRED-HAMEL IN L’ANCIENNE LAURETTE ON FRIDAY APRIL 5 2019 AT 11H30.
