1. CAPTAIN DAVID HITT WILL BE RETIRING FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AND MOST NOTIBLY THE ROYAL CANADIAN CORP OF SIGNALS ON 1 JULY 2021 AFTER 35+ YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA.

2. ORIGINALLY FROM NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND HOWEVER GROWING UP IN VANCOUVER, CAPT HITT WAS RECRUITED IN NIMPO LAKE BC (POPULATION 45), ENROLLING AS A RAD OP ON THE 6 TH OF FEB 1986 AND ACHIEVED THE RANK OF MWO BEFORE ACCEPTING HIS CFR IN 2017, DURING HIS CAREER HE HAS SERVED AT CAF UNITS ACROSS THE COUNTRY, WHILE DEPLOYED AND THE UNITED STATES.

3. CAPT HITT’S POSTINGS HAVE INCLUDED: 1 CSR (86-89), CFS ALDERGROVE (89-94), 1 CDHSR (94-95), 79 COMM REGT (95-2000), JSR (2000-2003), CFNOC (03-06), JSR (06-08), LDSH(RC) (08-10), 1 CMBG HQ AND SIGS SQN (10-12), CDLS(W) (12-16), CMP/DPGR (16/18) AND FINALLY 39 SIG REGT (18-21).

4. IN ADDITION TO THESE ASSIGNMENTS, CAPT HITT HAS COMPLETED DEPLOYMENTS TO BOSNIA (1996, 1998), KOSOVO (1999), ISRAEL (2002-03), DUBIA (2008) AND AFGHANISTAN (2011), PLUS THE OCCASIONAL DOMOP AND SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT, HE HAS EVEN ACCUMULATED 49 DAYS OF SEA TIME AND COVERED OVER 13000N MILES WHILE CONDUCTING RIMPAC 94 ON HMCS PROVIDER AND WESTPLOY 94 ON HMCS VANCOUVER, VISITING JAPAN, KOREA AND ALASKA.

5. DAVID WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THOSE THAT HE HAS SERVED WITH AND ALL THOSE SOLDIERS, SAILORS AND AIRMEN/WOMEN WHO CONTINUE TO SERVE. HE IS ETERNALLY THANKFUL FOR ALL THE FRIENDSHIPS HE HAS MADE ALONG THE WAY OVER HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE.

6. DAVID WILL BE RETIRING TO THE KAMLOOPS, BC AREA AND PLANS TO DO SOMETHING ELSE.
