AFTER 34 PLUS YEARS OF SERVICE TO CANADA, CAPT PAUL RINGUETTE WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 12 DECEMBER 2023.

ORIGINALLY, FROM SASKATOON, AND AFTER BEING IN THE ARMY RESERVES FOR 1.5 YEARS PRIVATE RINGUETTE ENROLLED IN THE REGULAR FORCE IN JUNE 1989. AFTER COMPLETING BASIC TRAINING IN CORNWALLIS, NS, HE WENT OFF TO KINGSTON, ON TO COMPLETE HIS OCCUPATION TRAINING FOR TELETYPE AND CYPHER TECHNICIAN (TEL TECH). THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER HE MIGRATED THROUGH VARIOUS OCCUPATIONS: STRATEGIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN (SYS TECH), AEROSPACE TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN (ATIS), AND COMMUNICATIONS ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING OFFICER (CELE-AIR).

CAPT RINGUETTE POSTINGS INCLUDE BORDEN 1990-1995, EDMONTON 1995-2001, LEITRIM 2001-2003, BORDEN 2003-2007, TRENTON 2007-2011, COLD LAKE 2011-2013, OTTAWA, 2013-2017, CALGARY 2017-2023 AND OTTAWA 2023 TO PRESENT. HE ALSO COMPLETED TOURS IN BOSNIA, ALERT AND HAITI, AND COMMISSIONED FROM THE RANKS (CFR) IN 2014.

THROUGH HIS EXTENSIVE CAREER AND PERSONAL GROWTH, HE WORKED IN VARIOUS ROLES AS A COMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN, VARIOUS PROJECTS, STAFF OFFICER, MILITARY CAREER COUNSELLOR, AND MOST RECENTLY AN INTERNAL AUDITOR. NONE OF THIS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE SUPPORT OF HIS FAMILY.

PAUL WILL BE TRANSITIONING INTO AN INTERNAL AUDIT ROLE WITH THE PUBLIC SERVICE. HE AND HIS WIFE COLLEEN, SON JEREMY AND DAUGHTER EDEN WILL REMAIN IN OTTAWA. HIS DEPART WITH DIGNITY WILL BE HELD ON 6 DECEMBER 2023 AT JACK’S (JACK ASTORS) AT 125 ROLAND MITCHENER DRIVE, KANATA AT 12:30PM. Congrats Paul, well deserved. Thank you for your many years of service and welcome to the Public Service. I will always remember the good time we had in the ZOO in Alert.
