1. CORPORAL NIQUET WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON OCTOBER 23, 2017 AFTER MORE THAN 29 YEARS OF LOYAL SERVICE AND DEDICATION TO THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AND TO THE COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS BRANCH.

2. CORPORAL NIQUET JOINED THE CAF ON 11 AUGUST 1988 IN CHICOUTIMI AS A RADIO OPERATOR. HIS FIRST POSTING WAS WITH HQ AND SIGS AT VALCARTIER. IN 1990, HE DEPLOYED WITH THE TROOPS IN KAHNAWAKE FOR THE OKA CRISIS. IN 1993, HE GOT POSTED TO 12 RBC. HE DEPLOYED DURING THIS PERIOD IN VISOKO, YUGOSLAVIA. IN 1996, HE GOT POSTED TO 5 SERVICE BATTALION. HE DEPLOYED TO PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI AS A DRIVER. HE WAS PART OF THE TROOPS WHO WENT TO HELP DURING THE ICE STORM CRISIS IN 1998. HE RETURNED IN 2000 TO HQ AND SIGS IN VALCARTIER AND GOT POSTED IN 2002 AT THE 438 TAC HELICOPTER SQN IN ST-HUBERT. HE DEPLOYED DURING THAT TIME IN AFGHANISTAN AS A SIGNALLER. IN 2009, HE GOT POSTED TO THE 5 ASG SIGNALS SVC IN LONGUE-POINTE WHERE HE FILLED THE POSITION OF COMMCEN OP AND ALTERNATE CRYPTO CUSTODIAN. IN 2011, HE GOT POSTED TO 764 COMM SQN IN OTTAWA AS AN FCC OP. IN 2017, HE BECAME A DEFSOC OP. HE WILL FINALLY RETIRE IN OCTOBER 2017.

3. CORPORAL NIQUET AND HIS WIFE, WILL SETTLE IN SAGUENAY. THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ENJOY NATURE AND VISIT THEIR CHALET ON A REGULAR BASIS. TO FULFIL HIS WELL DESERVED FREE TIME, STEPHANE WILL WORK IN THE SECURITY FIELD.

4. THERE WILL BE NO OFFICIAL DWD CEREMONY, BUT CORPORAL NIQUET WISHES TO THANK EVERYONE THAT HE WORKED WITH DURING HIS MILITARY CAREER. HE WISHES ALL HEALTH AND HAPPINESS.
