RETIREMENT – CPL STEVEN MITCHELL MANCINI – 00109 ATIS TECH

1. ON 01 DECEMBER 2021, CPL STEVEN MANCINI RETIRED FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES AFTER NEARLY 12 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIR FORCE, THE ROYAL CANADIAN NAVY, AND THE COMMUNICATIONS AND ELECTRONICS BRANCH.

2. STEVEN WAS BORN IN BRAMPTON, ONTARIO, IN 1989. MOVING FROM ONTARIO, HE GREW UP IN DARTMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA, WHERE HE HAS LIVED MOST OF HIS LIFE. IN MARCH 2010, HE ENROLLED IN THE CANADIAN FORCES NAVAL RESERVE TO START HIS CAREER AS A NAVAL COMMUNICATOR.

3. FOLLOWING BASIC TRAINING IN AUGUST 0F 2010, HE BECAME A NAVAL COMMUNICATOR AT HMCS SCOTIAN NAVAL RESERVE UNTIL MARCH OF 2012. DURING THIS TIME, HE SAILED ON THE HMCS SHAWINIGAN, HMCS MONCTON, AND HMCS PRESERVER.

4. IN MARCH OF 2012, HE COMPONENT TRANSFERRED TO THE ROYAL CANADIAN AIRFORCE AS AN ATIS TECH. AFTER GRADUATING HIS TRADE QUALIFICATION
COURSE IN 2013, HE WAS POSTED TO 12 WING SHEARWATER, WHERE HE HAS REMAINED UNTIL HIS RELEASE DATE. SINCE 2013, HE HAS DEPLOYED TO KUWAIT IN SUPPORT OF OP IMPACT IN 2018, AND LATVIA IN SUPPORT OF OP REASSURANCE IN 2019.

5. STEVEN, ALONG WITH HIS LOVING GIRLFRIEND AND FAMILY, WILL BE REMAINING IN THE HALIFAX AREA. HE HAS HAD AN INTERESTING AND REWARDING CAREER THUS FAR AND IS LOOKING FORWARD TO NEW EXPERIENCES WITHIN ANOTHER GOVERNMENTAL DEPARTMENT, AFTER RETIRING FROM THE CAF. HE IS GRATEFUL FOR THE FRIENDS, COLLEAGUES, AND EXPERIENCES HE HAS MADE, AND HAD, THROUGHOUT THE YEARS, ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
