1. CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER RÉMY LAPOINTE WILL RETIRE FROM THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES ON 18 SEPTEMBER 2020 AFTER 35 YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA.

2. RÉMY ENROLLED WITH THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES IN NOVEMBER 1984 IN QUEBEC CITY AS A RADIO TECH (221) AND LATER HE BECAME AN LCIS TECH (227) AND ACISS (362), WHERE HE ENJOYED HIS POSTINGS TO 12 RBC, 711 COMM SQN, 5 CMBG HQ&SIGS, 5 GSS, DLCSPM, DLCI, 76 COMM REGT, 7 COMM GROUP AND FINALLY THE CANADIAN ARMED FORCES TRANSITION GROUP AS FORMATION CWO. OVER HIS CAREER, HE COMPLETED TOURS IN CFS ALERT, HAITI, BOSNIA AND AFGHANISTAN.

3. RÉMY WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THOSE WHOM HE SERVED WITH, AND IS THANKFUL FOR THE LONG AND GREAT FRIENDSHIPS DEVELOPED OVER HIS 35 YEARS IN UNIFORM. RÉMY HAS ENJOYED THE SUPPORT AND ADVICE OF MANY MENTORS, FRIENDS AND COLLEAGUES OVER HIS CAREER, HE IS GRATEFUL TO ALL OF THOSE WHO HAVE HELPED HIM OVER THE YEARS.

4. UPON RETIREMENT, RÉMY WILL STAY IN THE OTTAWA-GATINEAU REGION WITH HIS WIFE PASCALE, SON MATHIEU AND DAUGHTER ARIANNE, WHERE HE HAS ACCEPTED EMPLOYMENT AS A DND CONTRACTOR.
