1. ON 26 JUNE 2019, AFTER 25 YEARS OF LOYAL AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO CANADA, LCOL J CLARK WILL TRANSITION FROM THE REGULAR FORCES AND TAKE THE FIRST STEPS INTO THE JOURNEY.
2. LCOL CLARK JOINED THE CAF IN 1993. HE BEGAN HIS STUDIES AT ROYAL ROADS MILITARY COLLEGE AND COMPLETED THEM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA, EARNING A BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING. IN 1999, FOLLOWING HIS TRAINING AS A SIGNALS OFFICER, HE WAS POSTED TO 1 CANADIAN MECHANIZED BRIGADE GROUP WHERE HE SERVED IN THE HEADQUATERS, 1 SINGALS SQUADRON AND THE LORD STRATHCONA’S HORSE (ROYAL CANADIANS), DEPARTING EDMONTON IN 2003. OVER THE NEXT 16 YEARS, HE WAS POSTED TO CFB SUFFIELD, THE ROYAL MILITARY COLLEGE OF CANADA IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A MASTER’S OF APPLIED SCIENCE IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING AND TO PRETEND TO BE A PROFESSOR, LAND FORCES WESTERN AREA, 742 SIGNALS SQUADRON (WHICH BECAME 3 CANADIAN DIVISION SUPPORT GROUP SIGNAL SQUADRON), CANADIAN FORCES COLLEGE, CANADIAN JOINT OPERATIONS COMMAND HEADQUARTERS AND 3RD CANADIAN DIVISION HEADQUARTERS. LCOL CLARK DEPLOYED TO BOSNIA WITH OPERATION PALADIUM IN 2000 (AS BATTLE GROUP ASSISTANT ADJUTANT) AND SUDAN WITH OPERATION SAFARI IN 2010 (AS A MILITARY OBSERVER).
3. LCOL CLARK HUMBLY ACNOWLEDGES THAT HE OWES ALL OF HIS SUCCESSES TO THE SOLDIERS AND LEADERS WITH WHOM HE SOLDIERED, AND TO THE PATIENCE AND WIDE ARCS PROVIDED BY BOSSES IN ALL POSTS.
4. LCOL CLARK WILL CONTINUE TO RESIDE IN EDMONTON. LCOL CLARK WILL BE UNDERTAKING NEW CHALLENGES WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT AS A PUBLIC SERVANT AND AS A CLASS A RESERVIST.
